I give you an idea: sale of SEO domains

Before reading on. I am writing this post because apart from wanting to inspire you, I have economic interests that are directly related to the idea. It means that if you really put it into practice "you run the risk" that we both benefit. So that later nobody complains about lack of transparency, okay...? 😉

You still remember that a couple of days ago I wrote a post about how to increase the value of a domain from 0 to 100 euros in a few days. This post has given me the inspiration for this new post. In the article, I commented that the domain market in Spain was practically dead. He has probably exaggerated a bit but the truth is that he is not living his best moments. When we talk about the sale of domains, we typically do not refer to a name without a website or anything. This is virgin digital terrain that in most cases has not yet been stepped on by anyone.

A new domain market: domains to create blog networks

We can debate for hours whether or not it is ethical to create blog networks for the purpose of doing SEO work. I do not consider myself an SEO so I have never used this weapon. It is true that the vast majority of people who work as web positioning professionals directly or indirectly benefit from them. In other words: its existence and relevance cannot be denied.

Creating a blog network from scratch is not the easiest task in the world. It requires quite a bit of time and dedication to create a site that helps you with SEO for the main project. It can be compared to the creation of sophisticated scaffolding for the creation of a house. Fun work is not that. It is rather the construction of housing. For many SEOs and webmasters, it is an unavoidable and essential task because otherwise, they will not be able to finish the building. The bad thing is that in this case not only one works for them but they have to create several scaffolds at the same time (or one after the other).

This is where the idea comes from: why not specialize in creating sites that serve as scaffolding for SEO? I'll give you a couple of figures why it might be a good idea... 😉

How to create an SEO domain from scratch suitable for use in a blog network

For SEO, not just any domain. One with "authority" is needed. If you don't come from this world metrics like PA, DA, Ahrefs, TF, CF, etc. They will probably sound Chinese to you. Don't worry, you're probably not alone... 😉

Simplified and summarized, all these metrics measure whether the domain is trustworthy from Google's point of view. If each link that goes from one site to another is a kind of recommendation, I have to be able to trust the source. This is how Google thinks.

How would I? Thanks for asking… 😉

1. Selection of a niche with a high level of SEO competition: to begin with, I would take a competitive niche such as travel or insurance. In these sectors, there are many SEOs and webmasters who work with blog networks, so there are hundreds of potential buyers.

2. Register or buy a domain with some authority – There are a lot of expired domains out there that no one wants anymore. Finding expired domains is not complicated and can be free. The tedious task is to apply the manual filter so that you don't catch anywhere it has been previously spammed and consequently penalized by Google (now follows a short ad break). Another option is to buy one for 35 euros at Rankingbull to make sure it's of quality... 😉

3. Set up a WordPress and add content: to create a blog focused on the topic of insurance, the ideal is to get a domain that has had this history in its first phase of life. It is quite difficult to find something like that, so my strategy would be to catch one with a broad theme and “reconvert” it into a blog for sure. I would still mix it with 70% of similar content that it had at the time so as not to take too much risk by attracting too much attention.

4. Linkbuilding for the blog: if you have your own network that also fits thematically, you can add more authority to the blog through links. Do this task very carefully and only if you have some experience with SEO. In the worst case, you can screw up the project receiving a penalty from Google. In that case you can throw the page and the domain in the trash. Let's say it's an optional step.

5. Find a buyer – My advice is the same as I gave last time (if I remember correctly). Forums can be a good place to sell this type of website. The mix of good authority, WordPress with mounted content and competitive niche can help you get a good price. Domains with a DA of 30 (without WordPress or anything) are currently being sold on Rankingbull for around 300 euros. With the blog already assembled the value should increase. But like everything in life it's a matter of trying it...

Well, nothing. This is all. I leave you the idea. It will probably only serve those who already know something about SEO (or not). If you start from scratch with knowledge on web positioning issues, it is probably difficult to apply it immediately. You will tell me… 😉
